Mercedes is a scenic artist and props painter based in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Berry College (2017) with a BA in Theatre. Mercedes was born and raised in Portland, Maine where she grew up in a creative environment being taught that she could achieve whatever she put her mind to. While attending Berry College, she tried her hand at scenic painting after deciding that her experience painting local lobster buoys would be a key asset. Shortly after her first paint call, she realized that sets were much more detailed than lobster buoys and was determined to learn as much as she could about set painting. While in college, Mercedes developed a great passion for scenic art and realizing designers' visions. She looks forward to working with people of all ages and experiences in hopes to be a life-long learner and a more skilled artist.

After moving to Chicago, Mercedes made her scenic art debut in the city with About Face Theatre's Time is on Our Side (2018).

Mercedes is also a member of the Guild of Scenic Artists.
